We are delighted to announce the installation of 12 photovoltaic Panels under the “Schools Energy Efficiency Programme”. On Friday 17th April work was commenced on the installation of 12 solar panels which will reduce our need to take electricity from the national grid. The system is configured so that electricity is used in preference to importing electricity from the grid. Any electricity that is subsequently generated is electricity that we would otherwise have had to purchase, leading to a reduction in our energy bills.
The electricity that is generated by the panels and which is not used on site can then be sold back to the national grid at a rate of £5.10 per KW of electricity.
