St. Mary's have appointed the role of Head Girl to Judith McCartan and Deputy Head Girls to Rebecca Grant and Laura Connell. These students will hold these prestigious positions during a very important year in the history of St Mary’s High School as the school celebrates its Golden Jubilee in 2011. These girls will represent the “Student Voice “on many public occasions and have proven over the last six years to be outstanding ambassadors for the school.
 The role of a Head Girl is to carry out the following duties - Act as part of a reception committee
- Address parents for example at parent teacher meetings
- Participate in Year 8 parent evenings
- Year 8 Induction
- Year 8 Prayer Service
- Look after the pastoral issues in the junior school
- Members of Platform party at open nights and at prize giving evenings
- Lead assemblies
- Assist Principal and staff in annual progress file presentation afternoon
- Assist with end of year evaluation of 6th form provision
- Members of school council involved in the democratic process of school elections.
