MODULE | COURSE CONTENT | ASSESSMENT | AS LEVEL (Year 13) | Module one Using ICT to Communicate | In this unit students create original documents in styles that suit the user and improve their accuracy, readability and presentation. Students explore some of the ways in which organisations present and gather information. ICT skills and good practice will be developed. | Portfolio Assessment | Module two How Organisations use ICT | In this unit students examine how organisations are structured and how they use and exchange information. They explore the effectiveness of ICT in assisting organisations and the ways in which ICT supports many activities and provides new opportunities for business. | External Examination | Module three ICT Solutions for Individuals and Society | This unit will develop skills and understanding in the most commonly used systems and applications software and communication technology. Applications include word processors, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software. | Portfolio Assessment | A LEVEL (Year 14) | Module nine Working to a Brief | This unit helps candidates improve their performance and working relationships through the planning, implementation, management and evaluation of an ICT project. | Portfolio Assessment | Module twelve Publishing | Students will appreciate the use of Desktop Publishing (DPT). | Portfolio Assessment | Module fourteen Developing and Creating Websites | In this unit students will learn how to develop and design websites.
