St Mary’s High School joined five businesses to receive the Investors in People’s awards. Businesses from across Northern Ireland were awarded with the prestigious Investors in People (IiP) recognition. Speaking at a celebration event held in Hillsborough Castle, Nuala Kerr, Director of the Department for Employment and Learning’s Skills and Industry Division, congratulated the 35 businesses that received the prestigious business award.
Mrs Kerr said, “I am enthused to see such a diverse group of businesses gaining the tried and tested Investors in People accreditation. This group represents a cross section of Northern Ireland businesses.”

                                                    

 
An ‘Investor in People’ organisation recognises the combined achievements of all staff, teaching, non-teaching, ancillary and auxiliary in ensuring St Mary’s create an environment that is proactive in embracing change and responds positively to all initiatives and celebrates its success.  
Staff are very grateful to the Regional Training Unit’s Adviser, Imelda Mc Daid who shares in the schools success and also to the assessor Mr Stephen Mathews. 
Mrs Cosgrove, Principal was delighted with the comprehensive report that supported the Award which recognised a culture in the school in which staff have a strong sense of empowerment and responsibility for providing high standards of teaching and support for every pupil.  Praise was given for sustained academic success and the lead the school has taken in new developments.  
Paul Bryans, Investors in People NI Centre Manager, extended his congratulations to St Mary’s High School: “I congratulate St Mary’s High School on its Investors in People recognition, proof of its commitment to ensuring the highest possible people management and business standards.  I acknowledge that Investors in People recognition is hard earned and am pleased that  St Mary's High School’s efforts have now been rewarded.  Everyone at St Mary’s should be proud of this achievement."
