It is with great sense of pride that we, the Board of Governors, the Principal, the Teaching Staff and the Support Staff of St Mary’s High School introduce ourselves and our school to you through this school website. We are proud of our school, of its record of achievement in education over many years, of its caring and pleasant environment, of its progressive vision, management and curriculum. Above all, we strive to ensure the happiness of our pupils so that they will enjoy learning in this supportive environment. We pride ourselves on the excellent relationships between staff, pupils and parents and on the effectiveness of our Pastoral Care provision. Our child centred approach to learning and teaching ensures students reach their potential, and are fully supported by our competent and dedicated staff. As a Catholic school we promote the dignity, self esteem and full development of each person who is made in God’s image and uniquely loved by God. We are an inclusive school, respectful of and engaging with people of all beliefs; we encourage the religious development of all in their own faith.
We are pleased to have been designated as a Specialist School in Mathematics and Business. This accolade recognises our successes and acknowledges our planning for future, whole school improvement. We provide high quality education through a broad and balanced curriculum and our students enjoy a wide range of extra curricular activities. We can offer each pupil the opportunity to realise her full potential and develop self discipline, good interpersonal skills and the spiritual and moral values essential to her spiritual growth. | |
We have tried to capture the spirit of St Mary’s in word and photographs in this website and through it enable you to view our up to date facilities and experience at first hand our friendly, caring ethos and our wide range of achievements.
With best wishes John E McClelland Margo E Cosgrove Chairperson of the Board of Governors Principal
