Senior Presentation Evening

Present and past students of St Mary’s High School
celebrated their achievements at the annual Presentation
Evening on 14th November 2018. Laura Grant, Head Girl,
welcomed the guests who included members of the Board of
Governors, Primary School Principals, Representatives from
Danske and Bank of Ireland, Parents, Pupils past and present
and the Guest Speaker Ms Dearbhail Mc Donald.
Ms Dearbhail Mc Donald congratulated the students on their
excellent GCSE, GCE Advanced Level results and on their
many curricular and extracurricular achievements while at St
Mary’s High School. Her inspiring words encouraged the
students to nurture the values and opportunities they have
experienced in their lives and enjoy the rewards of an
excellent education.


Mrs Margo Cosgrove, Principal commented that in St Mary’s,
“we are maintaining our high standards and all departments
continue to drive whole school improvement to ensure
success for each and every student. Coupled with our strong
links with our primary, post primary partners and local
business community, we are ensuring pupils are equipped
with the necessary skills and qualifications to confidently take
their place in Higher Education and the working world. This
is a night of great celebration, a time to reflect on the many
achievements: academic, pastoral, musical and sporting”
She commended the dedication of the school community and
noted the many accolades achieved over recent years such
as The Investors In People GOLD Award, The Rights
Respecting School’s Award, and ECO Ambassador Award.
These recognise the combined achievements of all staff in
ensuring St Mary’s creates an environment that values
people, is proactive in embracing change, embedding new
initiatives and celebrating success. Mrs Cosgrove also paid
tribute to the school’s partnership with parents who support
the students on their journey to success. She commended
the sterling work carried out in the local primary schools
where the ground work for the evening successes was firmly
