Our Eco-Committee have introduced a new initiative focused on Healthy and Sustainable Living. The Eco Committee are making use of our excellent school greenhouse by planting some herbs and chilli plants that we hope will be used by the Home Economics department in their recipes throughout the school year. Miss Carroll talked to pupils about how we can grow certain herb plants during Autumn/Winter in a greenhouse using eco-friendly grow bags. The pupils then took time to carefully plant and water our produce. We look forward to monitoring the progress of our plants and developing our skills in this area further so that we can use our school facilities to grow a range of different herbs, fruits and vegetables in the future! We also hope this initiative may inspire members of our school community to make an effort to grow their own produce.
