A huge well done to our Year 8, 9 and 10 Pupils who participated in our annual Interform Netball Competition.
It was the Year 10’s that kick started the competition putting on a fantastic display of netball. It was 1013 who clinched the victory with a strong performance in the final against 1022. Congratulations to Sophia Murphy, 1017 who was awarded most promising netball player for her determination and hard work throughout the course of the day. 1031 won the Year 10 banner competition with a colourful display which had each Pupil’s personal art work added to it.
The Year 9 competition followed, which was very competitive from the first whistle to the final whistle. It was 0925 who remained the reigning champions with a 1-0 win over 0908, in what turned out to be a nail biting final. Lily Rose Coulter was awarded most promising netball player as she dominated the court in centre position showing superb footwork and movement throughout the court.
Finally our Year 8 Pupils had an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a very promising display of netball indeed. As most Pupils are new to the sport it is safe to say that Mrs Haughey and Miss Malone were blown away with the level of performances they witnessed from all our Year 8’s. It was 0815 and 0837 who progressed through to the final with 0815 running out eventual winners.
Tiana Boyle, 0837 was awarded most promising netball player for her excellent level of skill and knowledge of the game. 0824 took the title for best banner.
The future of netball is certainly bright in St Mary’s, well done to all.
