Local Maritime Talk

On Friday 9th November, Year 10 were treated to an afternoon of local history when they were retold the story of the biggest shipping disaster on Carlingford Lough, the sinking of the SS Connemara and Retriever which took place on 3rd November 1916. We would like to thank James McAreavey and Michael O'Hare for such an interesting afternoon and a special thanks to Hugh Mulligan who performed his specially written song to commemorate the tragedy. Thanks also to Mr Morgan and his GCSE Technology class who created specially designed plaques commemorating the event to give to our speakers.
